IPOH: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional or PTPTN) continues the PTPTN Ramadan Imarah programme (IMRAN) in 14 institutions of higher learning(IPT) and polytechnics across the country, which began from March 28 to April 11.

According to PTPTN Senior General Manager, Mohd Rusdi Ismail, IMRAN, which has been in continuation since 2021, continues due to the positive responses from various parties.

He also said that since it first took place on March 28, an estimated 13,400 containers of bubur lambuk (a one-pot porridge) had been distributed to the people of IPT, polytechnics and the local community.

“The IMRAN programme at IPT and polytechnics is a signature programme under corporate social responsibility (CSR) held since 2021.

“We want to change people’s perception that PTPTN is only a funding provider, and that we also have community services with CSR like this.

“This programme involves joint-work activities between PTPTN staff, IPT, the Student Representative Council (MPP) and the students in preparing bubur lambuk to be distributed to students and the local community.

“This programme, among other things, aims to establish good relations with the community, especially the IPT students, and to promote the blessed month of Ramadan,” he said.

He said this at a press conference after officiating the PTPTN Ramadan Imarah (IMRAN) programme at the Ungku Omar Polytechnic (PUO) on Tuesday.

Also present were PUO Director, Dr Shamsuri Abdullah and PTPTN staff.

Meanwhile, Shamsuri said the gotong-royong (communal work) programme for the preparation of bubur lambuk started as early as 9 am with the involvement of 100 students and lecturers.

“This programme can indirectly strengthen the friendship between the people of Polytechnic and PTPTN.

“I am also optimistic that through this programme I will be able to improve the community’s positive perspective about PTPTN.

“A total of 1,000 containers of bubur lambuk will be distributed to staff, PUO students and nearby mosques,” he said.
