Tangga Batu, 15 May 2025 – The celebration of National Youth Day (Hari Belia Negara – HBN) 2025 at Kolej Komuniti Tangga Batu was highlighted by a symbolic yet meaningful Malaysian Youth Pledge Recitation Programme. Organized by the Student Affairs Unit, this initiative was part of the official activities for the 61st edition of HBN, which has been celebrated annually on 15 May since 1964.
Carrying the theme “YAKIN BOLEH”, this year’s HBN emphasizes confidence in the abilities and potential of youth to face future challenges while contributing to national development. The pledge served as a powerful expression of patriotism, unity, and commitment to uphold the Rukun Negara and support the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.
The programme aims to raise awareness among Malaysian youth about their roles in self-development and national progress, both now and in the future. Hence, it seeks to unite youth across the country to defend and contribute to the nation, supporting the Malaysia MADANI agenda by nurturing progressive, resilient, and visionary Malaysians.
Held at the E-Tech Room, Kolej Komuniti Tangga Batu, the event brought together 17 students from the Tourism and Adventure Certificate Programme, along with 22 academic and support staff. The programme included the screening of special National Youth Day messages by the Minister and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, as well as the Secretary-General of the Ministry; the recitation of the Malaysian Youth Pledge; and a special National Youth Day 2025 message.
Kolej Komuniti Tangga Batu Director, Mr. Mohd Yusof Tawang expressed strong support for the programme, highlighting its role in fostering national identity, unity, and civic consciousness among students. “Today’s youth are the nation’s hope. We want them to be not only knowledgeable but also ethical, with integrity and a love for their country,” he said.
Programme Director, Mr. Mohd Rozaini bin Ahmad emphasized that the students’ participation in the pledge was a clear manifestation of efforts to develop holistic youth who actively contribute to society and nation-building.
Happy National Youth Day to all Malaysian youth. Let’s rise together – Yakin Boleh!
